What the Buck is Web3?!
The Crypto Bull: Web3 is the future of the Internet. NFTs will become everything we see and interact with on the internet. Cryptocurrency will disrupt the entire financial systems.
The Skeptic: Web3 is a scam. Bitcoin is stupid and energy expensive. NFTs are all Ponzis. What we have now works pretty well.
Which of these is right?! The answer is certainly somewhere in between. But there is so much noise in the marketplace and media today it is tough to know what is up and what is down. This workshop will slow it down, present it a digestible way, and answer any questions you have.
This workshop will introduce:
– Definitions for web3, NFTs, DAOs, and other crypto-related terms
– Why these technologies are disruptive?
– How the world uses them today and will use them tomorrow?
– How BuckeyeNation can use this technology to create a new alumni experience?
Your Host
This session will be hosted and facilitated by Steve Kaczynski. Steve, an OSU alumnus from the class of 2005, co-authored the first Harvard Business Review article on NFTs and cofounded the Decentralized Generation Network, a leading and trusted Web3 media company. He also does consulting for multiple companies on their Web3 strategy, including native NFT brands and large legacy organizations.
Steve is an avid NFT enthusiast and holds multiple venture-backed NFT brands such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, Doodles, Pixel Vault, Jenkins the Valet, and Moonbirds.
Prior to working in Web3, Steve led multiple communications and marketing disciplines at Fortune 500 and multinational companies. Steve is excited to support Buckeyes in understanding how this technology can create a whole new alumni experience.
